Community college students in California navigate a complex and costly maze along the transfer path to a four-year institution. Math is often a significant barrier within this maze—due to inconsistent and unclear course requirements across university campuses—making the path confusing and overwhelming for many students. It’s one reason that only 16 percent of California community college students earn a bachelor’s degree at a California public university within eight years.
Clearing Math Barriers Within California’s Transfer Maze brought together leading experts to unpack the issues facing California community college students seeking to transfer and offer research and policy recommendations aimed at improving the pathway to a four-year degree. This webinar was presented by Just Equations in partnership with The Campaign for College Opportunity and Sova.
