Melodie Baker served as Just Equations’ National Policy Director from July 2020 through November 2024. In this role, she worked to promote equitable math education policy through national partnerships, policy initiatives, and research.
Her efforts helped to strengthen the organization’s national presence, expanding partnerships with research institutes, advocacy organizations and policy leaders. A frequent speaker on math education policy and research, she also authored numerous op-eds, and reports that shed light on critical education issues.
Previously, Melodie was the Director of Education for the United Way in Buffalo, New York.
Melodie earned her PhD in Educational Psychology and Quantitative Methods from the State University of New York at Buffalo in May 2023. She also holds an advanced graduate certificate in Applied Statistical Analysis, a Master's in Executive Leadership and Change, and a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations.
