This session explored how educators can make high school math more relevant, engaging, and directly applicable to students’ lives and futures. From modernizing Algebra II classes to engaging students through data science content, we considered various strategies for teachers, administrators, policymakers, and families to support the transformation of mathematics content and instruction. Education leaders, advocates, and classroom educators shared insights about how to bridge the gap between students’ experiences with mathematics and the skills they need to thrive in an increasingly complex, data-driven world.
