Alan Garfinkel is a professor of integrative biology and physiology, and medicine, at the University of California, Los Angeles. At UCLA’s Graduate Programs in Bioscience, he is a member of the Molecular, Cellular & Integrative Physiology GPB Home Area. He is also on the Neuroengineering Training Program faculty and on the research faculty for the cardiovascular research laboratory at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine. He is particularly interested in applying techniques of nonlinear dynamics to analyze data from experimental and clinical arrhythmias. Garfinkel graduated from Cornell University and received a doctorate from Harvard University in philosophy and mathematics.
