Calvin Wise is the deputy dean of admissions at Johns Hopkins University. In this role, Wise provides strategic direction for all aspects of undergraduate recruitment and serves as the public-facing leadership for JHU’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Alongside his in-office responsibilities, Wise works with several campus wide committees focused on student success, including co-chairing the university’s First Generation/Limited Income Practitioners Planning Group. Wise is a board member for Next One Up; an advisory board member for the National Partnership for Educational Access; the chair of Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling’s Inclusion, Access, and Success committee; and a previous faculty member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling’s Guiding the Way to Inclusion conference. Wise has a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and a Master of Liberal Arts from Johns Hopkins University.
