Kathryn Leonard

Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs

Occidental College

As the associate dean for curricular affairs at Occidental College, Kathryn Leonard provides administrative oversight, stewardship, and overall management of the college’s curriculum, including the Core Program, the college writing program, and the college’s majors and minors. She also ensures adequate staffing of the college’s curriculum, both as the leader of tenure-line discussions with the academic planning committee and by staffing the college’s first-year seminar program. Finally, she oversees the activities of the school’s Undergraduate Research Center, Center for Community-Based Learning, and Community Literacy Center, and, with the associate dean for faculty affairs, Occidental College’s Multicultural Summer Institute. Leonard is a computer science professor with research interests in mathematical modeling for computer graphics, computer vision, and other data science applications.
