Stephanie R. W. Cyrus is one of the state consultants in the Office of Advanced Learning & Gifted Education at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. In this role, Cyrus works alongside public school district and charter school leaders and other stakeholders to implement local academically/intellectually gifted (AIG) plans and programs and support other policy and legislation initiatives affecting gifted and advanced learners; these include Credit by Demonstrated Mastery and the Advanced Math Course enrollment legislation.
Cyrus’ journey has included working as a teacher and coach with high school students, a school administrator, and as an AIG program coordinator and human resources director at the district level. Throughout her career, Cyrus has had a passion for positively affecting outcomes for students and creating environments for students and staff to thrive.
