Despite their high academic potential, many Black, Latinx, and low-income high school students face significant barriers when it comes to accessing advanced math courses. These barriers can stem from inequities in educational resources and other systemic challenges that disproportionately affect underrepresented students. Leading thinkers from the field discussed recent research on the topic and key changes that K–12 systems can adopt to promote access and success in advanced math courses.
