Interdisciplinary collaboration is leading to the redesign of college math courses. Increasingly, modernized quantitative reasoning options are available to students pursuing non–math-intensive majors, as well as those seeking degrees in STEM fields. In fields such as biology and engineering, evidence has tied such interdisciplinary approaches to improved success. However, due to complex transfer and articulation policies, community college students are less likely than their counterparts at four-year universities to have access to such innovations. In this session, practitioners engaged in college math redesign and discussed the barriers and opportunities for broadening math course options for students at two- and four-year institutions.
