The San Francisco Chronicle covers the University of California Board of Regents’ meeting, in which the Board was presented with data on student math performance and a historical timeline of UC’s policy on the use of standardized tests in admissions.
Just Equations Executive Director Pamela Burdman spoke during the meeting’s public comment period: “Using standardized admissions tests to screen out certain students runs directly counter to UC’s mission of serving California’s diverse population. Admissions policies did not cause (math) gaps and cannot remedy them.”
